Your degree prepares you for the engine room of business: getting products in front of the right customers. In a typical role, you could be a wholesale sales representative, managing a territory of business clients, demonstrating products, and negotiating deals to meet sales targets. Alternatively, you might become a market research analyst, diving into consumer data and industry trends to advise your company on what to launch next. Many also begin supervising teams on a retail sales floor, handling everything from staff scheduling to hitting daily goals.

Career progression often means moving from doing to managing. A successful sales rep can become a supervisor of a non-retail sales team, while a sharp analyst can climb to a marketing manager role, setting strategy for entire campaigns. While roles in market research and marketing management are growing quickly, be aware that retail supervision faces headwinds from e-commerce.

With moderate AI exposure, expect technology to automate significant parts of your job. AI will handle routine tasks like generating sales leads or analyzing basic data, changing what you do day-to-day. These jobs aren’t disappearing, but your value will increasingly lie in strategic thinking, building client relationships, and making final judgments that algorithms can’t.
