California State University-Northridge is located in the suburban San Fernando Valley region of Los Angeles. The large campus was significantly impacted by the 1994 Northridge earthquake, leading to extensive reconstruction. CSUN is a Hispanic-serving institution with a diverse student body and a focus on master's level programs. The university is also home to the National Center on Deafness and hosts a major annual conference on technology and disability.
